Bread & Roses Labor Day Festival 2012

The Bread and Roses Festival takes place every Labor Day (the first Monday in September) on the Lawrence Common, rain or shine. The festival’s mission is to recognize, commemorate, inform, and share the labor history and social justice legacy of Lawrence's 1912 Bread & Roses strike with Lawrence's present day residents and people worldwide.

Every year the festival includes performers from around the region and the globe to celebrate the importance of people from all walks of life coming together. Festival goers are able to experience food and art from around the world, and learn from discussions, lectures and displays about labor history and current issues facing movements for social justice.

The festival is family friendly from beginning to end! Every year there are performers and activities aimed at our young festival goers and the festival makes a great day out no matter where you live.
