Bread & Roses Centennial Committee
Centennial Anniversary of the Lawrence Strike of 1912
The 100th Anniversary of the Great Lawrence Strike of 1912, popularly referred to as the Bread & Roses Strike, begins in one year, January 2012. Throughout the past few years many individuals and organizations have been meeting to prepare to celebrate this historically significant event. To coordinate events, marketing, and outreach these groups have come together to form the Bread & Roses Centennial Committee. The committee is ever-expanding. To facilitate the efficient programming of centennial events the Bread & Roses Centennial Committee has appointed a steering committee comprised of the following people:
Chair- Robert Forrant, PhD: Professor of History, University of Massachusetts Lowell
Jim Beauchesne: Visitor Services Supervisor, Lawrence Heritage State Park
Barbara Brown: Volunteer
Susan Grabski: Acting Director, Lawrence History Center
Ethan Snow: Graduate Research Assistant, Regional Economic and Social Development, University of Massachusetts Lowell
Phyllis Tyler: Treasurer, Bread & Roses Heritage Committee
